School-issued devices like Chromebooks are important learning tools. If your child’s device is damaged or stops working properly, please follow the steps below to get support.
1. Report the issue right away
As soon as you notice a problem, notify your child’s teacher or the school office. Reporting issues early helps minimize disruptions to learning and allows the school to address the problem quickly.
2. Follow the school’s tech support process
Glendora Unified uses a step-by-step process to support student devices:
-
Start with your child’s teacher or the school office.
-
If the issue cannot be resolved, it will be referred to the site technology lead (such as a librarian, designated staff member, or site technician).
-
If needed, a district technology support ticket will be submitted so the Technology Department can diagnose and repair the device.
This process ensures the issue is handled by the appropriate level of support.
3. Repairs, damage, and possible fees
-
Devices include manufacturer warranty coverage for hardware defects, but accidental damage (such as drops, cracks, or liquid spills) is not covered under warranty.
-
If damage requires significant repair or replacement, fees may apply based on district guidelines.
4. Do not attempt repairs at home
Please do not try to repair the device yourself or take it to an outside repair shop. Unauthorized repairs can void warranties and interfere with district systems and security.
5. What happens next
Once the issue is evaluated:
-
The school or Technology Department will determine whether the device can be repaired or needs replacement.
-
If available, a temporary device may be issued while repairs are underway.
-
Families will be contacted if payment or additional action is required.
Why quick reporting matters
Reporting problems right away helps protect district equipment, keeps student accounts secure, and ensures students can continue learning with minimal interruption.
If you have questions or need help with a damaged or malfunctioning device, please contact your school office or site technology support to get started.
